Corporate community service project culminates Saturday with a LETC (AATP) graduate winning the opportunity of a new home
Management and Training Corporation's (MTC) primary 25th anniversary undertaking has been to construct a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home in Ogden to be sold to a Job Corps graduate at a significantly-below-market price. Hundreds of sweat equity hours have been put into the home by MTC employees and Clearfield Job Corps plumbing, carpentry, electrical and facility maintenance students.
"Our employees and Job Corps students have spent the last six months building this house and we are very excited that a Job Corps graduate will be calling it home," said MTC CEO & President Scott Marquardt.
The new homeowner, Anthony Molyneux a LETC (AATP) 2005 graduate, was introduced during an MTC Corporate picnic at the house this past Saturday, August 12. "As the new home owner, I am deeply honored to have been given this unique opportunity," said Anthony just after the festivities concluded.
Growing up Ogden, Utah, Anthony struggled to find his way in life, holding only sporadic jobs; his prospects for a bright future were limited by his lack of good training. As a result, he knew he needed to find a way to obtain a meaningful, long lasting career. Anthony's answer was Job Corps and LETC (AATP).
During his time at LETC (AATP), Anthony completed nearly all of the classes offered in the 5 Medium/Heavy Truck Program. Prior to graduation, Anthony learned that he had passed Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification tests in four different Medium/Heavy Truck areas. These certifications, along with his excellent training assured Anthony a fantastic job with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), at a great wage, plus a full benefit package, including a pension and a 401 K plan.
Anthony's success was, in large part, due to his focus and incredible work-ethic. When asked if he would recommend the LETC Advanced Automotive Training Program to other students, he said: "Yes absolutely, but only if they really want it."
Recently, Anthony married his long-time girlfriend. Together they can share in the happiness of a new home and a new life together, thanks in part to the kindness and generosity of MTC, LETC (AATP) and the key staff that helped a young man become successful beyond his wildest dreams.
