Welcome to UAW-LETC!
The United Auto Workers began its relationship with Job Corps in May 1978, when it started the first Advanced Automotive Training Program at the Clearfield Job Corps Center in Clearfield, Utah. Our program has earned Master Automobile Repair Certifications from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (NIASE). In addition, we have received Master Certifications in Collision Repair and Refinishing, as well as Medium/Heavy Truck Repair. The Master Certification is the highest achievement recognized by NIASE.
Students interested in the UAW-LETC Advanced Automotive Training Program must complete a basic trade prior to entrance; however entrance is not limited to completers of basic auto programs. Completers of other programs, with a strong interest in an automotive career will be considered. All students are prepped for ASE certification tests prior to graduation. Additionally, up to a year spent in the program counts toward ASEs required two (2) years of on-the-job experience. To ensure training parallels industry standards, our curriculum is based on the National Automotive Technician Education Foundations (NATEF) task list for all segments of the training program.
UAW-LETC places heavy emphasis on work ethic and social skills, employability skills , such as: positive attitude, appearance, initiative, motivation and the ability to work as part of a team.
Note:
As a condition of acceptance, a student must understand and agree to apply his/herself for at least 1 Year in the program in order to truly benefit from it; however, a student may find it necessary to stay longer than 1 Year to complete their program. The UAW-LETC (AATP) is an Advanced Training Program. As such, UAW students may remain in Job Corps for up to three years of training.
